The Enterprise Backup Platform is designed to scale - we purposely built the system to accommodate growing data storage, bandwidth demands, and large scale service deployment. The service supports multi-terabyte backup, hundreds of services per customer, and uses proven technology to operate. Our Enterprise Backup Servers are spread across multiple geographic locations and connected via a large number of different connections, all fully secured with comprehensive Firewall, Intrusion Prevention & Detection and other security technologies.
Backup Systems today need to handle the requirements of more complex applications than ever before. That's why our system supports leading enterprise applications including Microsoft Exchange Server (5.5 through 2007 plus Beta support for Exchange 2010), SQL Server (7 through 2008), and tools such as SharePoint Server and Active Directory which are used throughout enterprise businesses. We also support other non-Microsoft products including many Oracle Products, and other line of business servers. The infrastructure can support real-time and continuous backup requirements for businesses that need more than the traditional "overnight" backup service. We can provide hybrid configurations where you hold the "first line" of the data at your own site on our managed appliances, with us holding the off-site copies - dramatically reducing recovery time for many typical restore scenarios, but without compromising on the ability to restore after the loss of physical sites, offering you the reassurance of having immediate access to your most recent data whatever happens.
The Enterprise Backup service has security at it's heart, with connectivity being typically provided via services including Private Broadband, Leased Lines and IPSec VPN. Data transmission is via both native data encryption and/or VPN Link Security - up to AES-256 Standard (server, configuration and environment dependant). In addition, we have high standards of security for the logical, physical network, and physical building/facility security at our data centre environments.
Data security is critical to us, so we take such issues extremely seriously. We actively work to improve the standards of data security all the time, and regularly deploy further enhancements as an integral part of the service.
We know that an Enterprise Service deserves nothing less than a comprehensive Service Level Agreement, and can support both "Standard" Agreements and bespoke agreements to meet specific customer requirements in complex or unusual scenarios. Having a service level means nothing if you don't know where a problem may develop, and we have made monitoring and control of our platform central to the service. Our Monitoring Infrastructure watches the platform in real time, and ensures that we are made aware of any potential problem at the first possible opportunity, meaning we avoid many issues entirely through proactive maintenance.
Our trained engineers manage the platform, and take corrective, proactive action to ensure continued operation of the service when required. This includes 24/7/365 monitoring - with our engineers alerted via in-house monitoring screens, SMS Alerts, E-Mails and other notification technologies to issues to make sure we keep the service operational.
When required we can provide E-Mail or SMS Alerts to you for any issues affecting your service as part our most comprehensive Service Level options, making it ideal for those customers who need to provide regular reporting to senior staff or KPI compliance reasons. It can also ensure you can demonstrate meeting SLA obligations.
Our Enterprise Backup Service is fully managed at all levels of the environment. In addition to the the more obvious need to manage the platform itself, our team actively monitors the service at customer level, managing localised issues that occur with any given server or customer site, and, depending on the service plan, either correcting issues or alerting customers to any issues they need to resolve - in many cases the service plans include mutual maintenance so we work closely to resolve issues that turn up with your existing I.T. Team or outsourced management company.
You can choose as much, or as little management of your local environment for backups as you wish, although we do strongly recommend you let us take care of everything to get the most complete, and reliable service from us thus ensuring you get the complete peace of mind you need.
Yes, we offer a "cut down" version of this service specifically tailored for growing businesses in the SME market, with particular focus on backup of "Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS)" Systems.
