Transferring Domain Names
If you're looking to use our E-Mail or Web Hosting Services, but have previously purchased a Domain Name with another provider, you'll need to transfer the domain name over to us.
This process is normally very simple, but does require you to contact your existing provider in most instances, and follow a procedure they have for completing the transfer. It is a common process and almost all providers can quickly help with this.
What type of Domain Names can I transfer?
Most Domain Names can be transferred, although we find the easiest to transfer by far are domain names ending in .uk - as they're controlled by Nominet, who are extremely efficient at assisting with transfers, and have a system that makes changes readily possible. However, you can transfer almost all domain names - known as a "Registrar" or "Tagholder" Transfer. This is not the same as a "Name server transfer".
So how much does a Domain Name cost to transfer?
The cost of a transfer depends on the domain name, and what services you're taking from us. Some of our Hosting Packages include Domain Name Registrations and Transfers. Please contact us for more information and to check if there is any cost for your chosen scenario.
How long does a Transfer take?
This does vary by domain, but can typically be completed in between 48 hours and 10 working days - subject to some factors beyond our control.
