What is Co-Location?
Co-Location is the name given to hosting (and managing) your own server within our Datacentre Facilities. It's ideal for situations where you already own suitable servers, or have an unusual server system or application.
How does it work?
When you purchase Co-Location, you'll be allocated an amount of space within one of our Datacentre Facilities (multiple sites available for more complex needs), IP Addresses plus power and bandwidth (connectivity) as appropriate. You then send us your server, we install it into our racks - and you're ready. Once installed, you simply connect to your server and manage it as you see fit. We keep it powered and on the Internet, plus provide support services for the co-location service itself, while you install, run, and manage your software.
What can you run on it?
For the sake of ease, we'll assume you're going to be running a Windows Server. If so, you can run whatever you would normally run on a server of that specification - it's entirely up to you.
What Service Plans are available and how much does it cost?
The costs of Co-Location with us vary depending on your needs, in terms of the Bandwidth, Rack Space (measured in "U"), Power Consumption and Network Connectivity requirements. When you want to co-locate multiple servers we can offer part and whole rack co-location as well as the ability to split your servers between multiple sites (geographic locations).
