Q. How do I setup Wordpress on your Hosting?
Wordpress .can be installed in a single click using our Shared Linux Hosting packages. Just login to the Linux Hosting Control Panel (see your Welcome E-Mail for login details) and choose the "Site Packages" option from the Control Panel.
Q. Do you support PHP and if so, what version?
Yes, on the Linux Essentials Packages you can use PHP v5 - log into the Control Panel (see your Welcome E-Mail for login details) to check and enable additional options and modules for PHP.
Q. What FTP Software should I use?
We don't specify any particular FTP software and anything compliant should work However, for Windows users, we recommend FTP Voyager.
Q. Can I setup E-Mail Accounts with my Hosting Package?
Yes - Linux Essentials customers can setup basic E-Mail accounts using POP-3 via the main Control Panel once logged in - the number of accounts you can have varies depending on your package. For more advanced e-mail needs, you could consider our Agility Mail service [ find out more.... ]
Q. With e-mail 'Forwarders' is it possible to forward messages to multiple recipients?
A. Yes, simply add multiple forwarders with the 'Address to Forward' being the same, but different 'Forward to email address' for each required destination address.
Q. Can I add additional domains to my hosting package?
A. Yes, it is possible but not enabled by default. There are multiple methods that can be used, however we will need to make some changes to your account to allow the functionality, and this may be chargeable. Please contact us for more information.
Q. Once uploaded, am I able to view my website before the domain registration, transfer or DNS change has completed?
A. Yes, in addition to accessing your website via your domain name, all Linux Shared Hosting packages are accessible using a second address that uses our domain name. You can use this immediately to ensure your website is working as
expected. Details of the address are listed in your welcome e-mail along with the other account settings.
Q. I'd like help setting up my Linux hosting, is that possible?
A. Yes, while the packages are designed to be self-service, and are priced accordingly, we can provide help setting up your package, configuring accounts etc if required. That help would be chargeable, dependant on how much help was required or work involved. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
